VISUAL NOTES ON Radius Published by dbcovers Source: https://dbcovers.com/artwork/radius/ Text licence: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) Licence: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ VISUAL DESCRIPTION A tall film poster in dark, muted green tones, with two figures standing at the centre of a large circular structure. The circle fills much of the middle of the image: several pale, concentric rings surround the figures, while the outer rim is broad and mottled, marked with small dark bird-like shapes. Fine cracks and irregular lines cross parts of the rings. The circle’s inner surface contains a faint, map-like pattern and ghostly, indistinct forms. A woman and a man stand close together in the lower centre, their bodies overlapping slightly. The woman is just behind and to the left of the man, turned partly sideways; the man faces forward with his arms down. Both wear dark, practical-looking clothes. They are shown nearly full length, with their legs fading into the shadowy, rough ground at the bottom of the poster. The circle rises high above them, making the figures appear small in comparison. The setting is an open, bleak landscape. Low grasses and uneven, stony ground stretch across the foreground, with a dark tree line or scrub along the distant horizon. Behind the circle, a cloudy sky shifts from deep green-black at the top and right to a dim, smoky ochre glow near the left horizon. The lighting is subdued and hazy; pale edges on the rings and figures stand out against the dark surroundings. A slight turquoise cast appears along parts of the circle and ground. At the top, small, widely spaced white capitals name “DIEGO KLATTENHOFF” on the left and “CHARLOTTE SULLIVAN” on the right. Beneath them, “RADIUS” appears in very large, thin, widely tracked capitals across the upper width. A smaller line below reads “LA VÉRITÉ PREND FORME...” in spaced capitals. The lettering is clean and narrow, aligned centrally overall, and set against an area of dark sky for contrast. Small white festival marks, credits and logos occupy the lower portion, placed around the figures and along the bottom edge. Some are arranged as compact blocks at the lower left and right of the circle, with a larger “FANTASIA FILMFEST” mark below the figures; a dense strip of production and distributor marks runs along the bottom. Much of this small print is too fine to read confidently. The poster has no visible border. Its imagery appears to combine photographic figures and landscape with a digitally composed, graphic circular motif, atmospheric haze and layered surface effects. ASSOCIATIONS AND AESTHETIC IMPRESSIONS The enormous rings suggest a target, a portal or a measuring instrument, but none of those readings settles into certainty. Their scale gives the pair a strange isolation: they seem exposed in a landscape that has been organised around them, as if the open ground were also a diagram. The small birds on the rim bring a flicker of life to the otherwise suspended geometry, though they could also read as marks or signs rather than a flock. There is an uneasy balance between precision and decay. The circles are orderly and almost ceremonial, while cracks, mist and the dimly visible forms within them make the structure feel damaged or permeable. The figures provide a human scale, yet their dark clothing and reserved poses offer little warmth. The green-black palette evokes damp weather and a landscape after dusk; the faint amber glow at the horizon keeps the scene from becoming entirely sealed in gloom. The composition has something of a dream image or a science-fiction mystery poster: a simple, monumental symbol set in a recognisable but emptied-out place. It also recalls the visual language of maps and astronomical diagrams, where a clean system promises explanation even as the image withholds what the system is meant to explain. The result feels watchful and uncanny, with a quiet tension between shelter and threat, human closeness and vast impersonal space. READABLE LETTERING DIEGO KLATTENHOFF — Small capitals at the top left CHARLOTTE SULLIVAN — Small capitals at the top right RADIUS — Large title across the upper portion LA VÉRITÉ PREND FORME... — Directly beneath the title FANTASIA FILMFEST — Below the figures near the bottom centre OBSERVATION NOTES - The small festival laurels, production credits and logos in the lower section are too small to transcribe confidently.
